At Dr Sknn, we take advantage of the Lynton Lumina, a state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL) which the NHS and private hospitals across the country often employ for securely and effectively treating Spider Naevus on skin types I-IV. By releasing light in particular wavelength ranges, we are capable of targeting absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, thus allowing us to treat Spider Naevus at different sizes and depths while causing minimal injury to the skin neighbouring. After completion of the procedure, the impaired vessels are taken in by the body, leaving little to no trace of the initial lesion.

At Dr Sknn, we exploit the power of IPL to make use of light energy. This energy is taken in by the Spider Naevus, which are heated up to the point where they constrict and/or shrink, thus sealing them. Subsequently, these damaged vessels are naturally absorbed by the body so that no evidence of the original lesion is left behind.

At Dr Sknn, a physical examination, including photographs, will be conducted and a medical history taken during the consultation. You'll also have a chance to bring up any worries you have, such as results or queries. Before the treatment, any advice on what to do afterwards and any potential risks connected to the Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) procedure will be gone over with you, so you are completely aware and sign a consent form.
