At Dr Sknn we make use of the Lynton Lumina, a state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL), employed by the NHS and private hospitals throughout the UK, to safely and effectively deal with Spider Naevus on skin types I-IV. By producing light at specific wavelength ranges, we target absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, allowing us to treat Spider Naevus of varying sizes and depths, causing minimal harm to the surrounding skin. Subsequent to treatment, the impaired vessels are taken in by the body, and often little or no evidence of the initial lesion is visible.

At Dr Sknn, IPL is used to use light energy, which is then taken in by the Spider Naevus, heating them up to a point where they constrict and/or become defunct. Over the following weeks, the impaired vessels are taken in by the body spontaneously, so there will be no trace of the original lesion left.
