At Dr Sknn, the Lynton Lumina, a highly advanced Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL) is utilised, which is a technique employed by the NHS and a lot of private hospitals across the UK, in order to treat Spider Nevi securely and efficiently for skin types I-IV. By letting out light in a specific wavelength range, we are able to target absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, allowing us to treat various types of Spider Nevi at diverse sizes and depths, whilst causing minimal harm to the adjacent skin. Following the procedure, the damaged vessels are absorbed by the body and in most cases, little or no trace of the original lesion remains.

At Dr Sknn, by using IPL we make use of light energy, the light is taken up by the Spider Nevi which causes them to become hot to a point where they contract and/or collapse and seal. Over the following weeks, the damaged vessels are naturally assimilated by the body so hardly any sign of the original mark remains.
