At Dr Sknn, the Lynton Lumina, a state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL) is used, which is also employed by the NHS as well as private hospitals across the UK, so as to treat Spider Nevi safely and effectively for skin types I-IV. By discharging light in a particular wavelength range, we are able to target absorption peaks in both haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, allowing us to treat Spider Nevi of various sizes and depths, all the while causing minimal harm to the skin around it. Once the treatment is finished, the damaged vessels are taken in by the body, leaving little or no evidence of the initial lesion.

At Dr Sknn, we make use of IPL which takes advantage of light energy. Once absorbed by the Spider Nevi, the light causes them to heat up to a point where they go into spasm or collapse, and are then sealed. In the weeks following, the damaged vessels are naturally absorbed by the body, leaving no trace of the original lesion.

Before the Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment, any post-treatment advice and dangers related to the treatment are explained to make sure you understand them and a consent form is signed.
