At Dr Sknn, we make use of the Lynton Lumina, the state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL) employed by the NHS and private hospitals up and down the country, to treat Spider Nevi safely and efficiently on skin types I-IV. By emitting rays of light in highly specific wavelength ranges, we are able to target absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, meaning we can treat a variety of Spider Nevi at different sizes and depths, while limiting the damage to the adjacent skin. Following the treatment, the damaged vessels are naturally reabsorbed by the body and often, little or no trace of the original lesion remains.

At Dr Sknn, we utilise IPL to utilise light energy. The light is then taken in by the Spider Nevi, which are heated to a point where they contract or collapse, sealing them. Over subsequent weeks, the impaired vessels are naturally taken in by the body, leaving little or no remnant of the initial lesion.

At Dr Sknn, during the consultation a medical history and physical assessment will be carried out including photographs. This gives you the chance to go over any fears, expectations, results, or questions you may have. Beforehand to the Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment, any post-treatment advice and potential risks connected to the treatment are discussed ensuring that you appreciate them and a consent form is signed.
