At Dr Sknn, the Lynton Lumina, an advanced Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL) is employed, which is a technique that is commonly used by the NHS and numerous private hospitals across the UK, in order to treat Spider Nevi securely and effectively for skin types I-IV. By letting out light at a specific wavelength range, we can target absorption peaks in both haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, allowing us to treat a variety of Spider Nevi at different sizes and depths, while causing minimal damage to the nearby skin. Subsequent to the treatment, the damaged vessels are absorbed by the body and in most cases, little or no trace of the initial lesion remains.

At Dr Sknn, we make use of IPL to make use of light energy. This light is absorbed by the Spider Nevi, heating them to the point that causes them to spasm or collapse and seal. Over the following weeks, the damaged vessels are absorbed naturally by the body, leaving very little indication of the initial lesion.
