At Dr Sknn we use the Lynton Lumina, a state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL), which is also employed by the NHS and private hospitals across the UK, in order to treat Spider Nevus safely and efficiently on skin types I-IV. By expelling light in a particular wavelength ranges at Dr Sknn we target absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, allowing us to treat Spider Nevus at different sizes and at different depths while causing minimal damage to the nearby skin. After treatment, the impaired vessels are taken up by the body and hardly any trace of the initial lesion remains.

At Dr Sknn, IPL is utilised to tap into the power of light energy, with the light being ingested by the Spider Nevus, heating them until they undergo a spasm and/or shrinkage, leading to closure. Subsequently, the damaged vessels are naturally reabsorbed by the body, resulting in no trace being left of the initial marks.

At Dr Sknn, during the consultation there will be a medical history taken, including a physical examination, with photographs being taken. This is your opportunity to express any of your worries, expectations, results or queries. Before undergoing the treatment, all post-treatment advice and any risks associated with it will be discussed in detail, so that you understand them, and a consent form will be signed. Additionally, if it is a new area to be treated, a small patch test with Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) will be carried out to make sure it is suitable.
