This system utilises light in particular wavelength ranges to target the absorption peaks of haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, meaning we are able to treat Spider Vein of different sizes and depths with little damage to the surrounding skin. Once the treatment has ended, the damaged vessels will be absorbed by the body and there will be no trace of the initial lesion.

Employing IPL, at Dr Sknn we make use of light energy, the light is absorbed by the blood vessels heating them to a point where they go into spasm and/or collapse and become sealed. Over the following weeks, the damaged vessels are reabsorbed by the body with little or no trace of the initial lesion left.

At the consultation with Dr Sknn, a medical history with a physical assessment and photographs will be taken. There will be an opportunity to talk about any worries, objectives, results, or queries you may have. Before any treatment, all post-therapy advice and risks associated with the procedure will be gone through to make sure you understand them totally and a consent form is signed. Also, if it is a new area being treated a small patch test with Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) will be completed to ensure appropriateness.
