Prior to the treatment, any possible risks and post-treatment advice in reference to Fractional CO2 Laser treatment will be discussed in detail and you will be asked to sign a consent form to ensure you understand the process fully. Before treating an area for the first time, a small patch test will be undertaken to check if it is suitable. On top of this, if your skin type is determined as III+, a topical serum may need to be applied for four weeks prior to the treatment in order to prepare the skin. Safety and suitability for the procedure are of the utmost importance at Dr Sknn and a full consultation will be conducted to assess if you are eligible for Fractional CO2 Laser treatment. If the patch test is successful after 48 hours, the treatment can be carried out. However, if you are taking certain medications, the patch testing period may be extended up to two weeks. Furthermore, if your skin type is III+, a topical product may have to be used for four weeks before the treatment.
