Telangiectasia Augmentation

At Dr Sknn we make use of the Lynton Lumina, an advanced Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL), which is also used by the NHS and private hospitals across the UK, to treat Telangiectasia safely and effectively on skin types I-IV. By emitting light in a particular wavelength ranges at Dr Sknn we target absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin resulting in being able to treat Telangiectasia of different sizes and at differing depths while causing minimal harm to the neighbouring skin. After the treatment, the affected vessels are assimilated by the body and barely any trace of the original lesion is left.

At Dr Sknn, IPL is used to utilise light energy. This light is then taken up by the veins, heating them to the level of contraction or collapse, thereby leading to them being blocked. Over the following weeks, the affected vessels are naturally absorbed by the body, leaving behind hardly any indication of the original lesion.

At Dr Sknn, a medical history and physical examination will be conducted during the consultation, with photos taken. This is your chance to bring up any queries, expectations, results, or worries you might have. Before the IPL treatment any advice and risks associated with the procedure are discussed, to ensure you are aware of them, and a consent form will be signed.
