At Dr Sknn, we make use of the Lynton Lumina, a leading-edge Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL), which is also used by the NHS and private medical facilities throughout the UK, to treat Telangiectasia safely and effectively on skin types I-IV. By issuing light in a precise wavelength range at Dr Sknn we are able to target absorption peaks of haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, meaning we can treat Telangiectasia of various sizes and depths without causing much harm to the neighbouring skin. After the treatment, the damaged vessels are absorbed by the body and little or no trace of the initial lesion is left.

At Dr Sknn, we utilise IPL to employ light energy, which is taken up by the blood vessels, heating them to a stage where they spasm and/or collapse, thus closing off. Subsequently, over a sequence of weeks, the damaged vessels are absorbed by the body, leaving only a small trace of the original lesion.

At Dr Sknn, during the appointment a medical chronicle including a physical inspection along with photographs will be conducted. During this time, there is the opportunity to talk about any qualms, expectations, results, or queries you may have. Prior to the Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment, any aftercare advice and dangers related to the treatment will be gone through to make sure you understand it all and a consent form will be filled in.
