At Dr Sknn, the Lynton Lumina, a state-of-the-art Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL) used by both NHS and private hospitals across the UK, is employed to safely and effectively treat Telangiectasias in skin types I-IV. By emitting light in particular wavelength ranges, Dr Sknn are able to target the absorption peaks of haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, permitting us to treat Telangiectasias of varied sizes and depths while causing minimal damage to the skin around. Subsequent to the treatment, the impaired vessels are reabsorbed by the body and very little indication of the original lesion remains.

At Dr Sknn, with the help of IPL, we are utilising light energy which is absorbed by the blood vessels, heating them to a degree where they go into spasm and/or shrink and get sealed. In the weeks that follow, the affected vessels are taken up by the body, leaving no or little mark of the original lesion.
