At Dr Sknn we make use of the Lynton Lumina, a best-in-class Intense Pulsed Light System (IPL) employed by the NHS and private medical centres across the UK, to securely and efficiently manage Telangiectasias on skin types I-IV. This system emits light at a specific wavelength, allowing for targeting of absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin, thus permitting us to treat Telangiectasias at various sizes and depths, with minimal harm to the nearby skin. On completion of the treatment, the damaged vessels are consumed by the body, leaving little or no trace of the starting lesion.

Here at Dr Sknn, we use IPL to employ light energy, which is taken in by the blood vessels, heating them to the point that they spasm and/or become inoperative, and are then shut off. In the weeks following, the impaired vessels are naturally reintegrated into the body, with hardly any sign of the original defect.

At Dr Sknn, a consultation can include a medical history, physical examination and photographic documentation. During this time, any worries, expectations, results or queries can be discussed. Before the Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy, any post treatment advice and potential hazards related to the treatment are explained to ensure a full comprehension and a consent form is signed.
