With the Lynton Lumina, Dr Sknn have access to a modern Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) System, which is widely used by NHS establishments and private hospitals throughout the UK to treat Thread Vein efficiently and safely for skin types I-IV. By utilising light at certain wavelength ranges, absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin are targeted, thus allowing us to deliver treatments for Thread Vein of varying sizes and depths without causing too much damage to the surrounding skin. Upon completion of the treatment, the damaged vessels are absorbed by the body with minimal trace of the initial lesion remaining.

At Dr Sknn we take advantage of IPL to exploit the energy of light. This light is consumed by the blood vessels, heating them up to the extent that they suffer spasm and/or collapse, consequently closing them off. Over the following weeks, the impaired vessels are reabsorbed by the body, resulting in hardly any trace of the original lesion being left.
