After treatment, the affected vessels are absorbed by the body and barely any evidence of the original lesion is left.

At Dr Sknn, IPL is employed to make the most of light energy. The light is taken up by the blood vessels, heating them to the point where they contract and/or shut down, then seal. Subsequently, the affected vessels are gradually assimilated by the body, with no or minimal signs of the initial lesion.

At Dr Sknn, during the consultation a medical history including a physical examination will be conducted including photographs. During the visit there will be a chance to discuss any apprehensions, hopes, results, or questions you may have. Before the Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment, any post-treatment advice and risks associated with the procedure will be gone over to make sure you have a full comprehension and a consent form is signed.
